Fontaine Modification’s Engineering Teams are consistently developing products, improving, and looking for the next development. Our teams have the unique ability to engineer, design systems, build prototypes and execute serial production with both contract engineering and new products.
Fontaine’s “Plan First” approach to engineering means:
- All designs meet FMVSS, DOT, and EPA compliance standards.
- Many structural designs are fully patented.
- Electrical wiring changes fit well into the OEM’s factory harness designs.
- We regularly employ Finite Element Analysis on new designs.
- Solid Modeling is used for consistent design and manufacturing.
- For more complicated development work, a prototype may be produced before serial production begins.
- The first truck modified in a group order is used to produce chassis specific work instructions to be used in subsequent production.
