Fontaine Modification Expands Peterbilt Auto Hauler Offerings
Car carrier modification now available for new Peterbilt Model 589 sleepers.
CHARLOTTE, NC (Sept. 30, 2024) — Fontaine Modification expands its auto hauler offerings for Peterbilt trucks to include the new Peterbilt Model 589 44-inch, 58-inch and 72-inch sleepers.
Peterbilt’s Model 589 is the successor to the iconic Model 389. Fontaine has performed auto hauler conversions on the Model 389, as well as the Model 365, for more than a decade.
“As North America’s most comprehensive, engineering-focused provider of post-production services for truck manufacturers, dealers, and fleets, we’re proud to offer car carrier conversions on a wide range of truck models,” says Harrison Letchworth, Fontaine Modification vocational sales manager. “As a result, customers can choose the truck and trailer they want with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the conversion has been designed and performed by experienced professionals.”
All Fontaine auto transport modifications deliver OE-quality fit and finish. Completed vehicles meet all relevant FMVSS requirements.
The new modification lowers the Peterbilt 589 cab roof by 4.5 inches to achieve an overall height of 102 inches. Fontaine will offer additional cab-to-chassis lowering options in 2025. The final cab height depends on vehicle specifications including wheel, tire or frame options. Consult your truck dealer sales representative or OEM application engineer for details and recommendations on chassis specifications.
The Peterbilt Auto Transport Modifications are performed on new trucks as part of Fontaine’s ship-thru agreement with the OEM, so the process is seamless and cost-effective for customers.
