Position Description

As a technician with Fontaine Modification, you can expect to be a part of some of the most innovative, and unique, modifications in the industry. Position Requirements

This position is located at the Charlotte, NC facility and will be responsible for the following job functions:

Responsibilities as a Fleet Truck Tech /Welder:

  • Installing minor modifications such as back up cameras, auxiliary power units, electronic log kits, decals, running fuel lines, electrical wiring harnesses, etc.,
  • Pre-delivery inspections
  • Working with kits and bolt-on modifications
  • Lots of bending, stooping and on feet most of day
  • Lifting and installing components up to 45 pounds
  • Frame drilling
  • Installing components
  • Performing wiring techniques
  • Installing telematics systems
  • Performing PDI operations or performing drive prep
  • Installing new fuel lines, fuel tanks, etc.
  • Working on Class 7 & 8 trucks; bolt-on modification kits, some fabrication and mechanical work
  • Decal application

Qualifications

  • Automobile or truck mechanic skills (shade tree mechanic experience OK)
  • Ability to work 40- hour weeks plus overtime, if required.
  • Tools including impact wrench and drill or ability to acquire tools after 90 days of employment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Post offer background check, drug screening, and physical evaluation
  • Mechanical experience preferred
  • Have tools or the ability to obtain tools as soon as possible.
